Panama is one of the safest countries in the region for tourists and business people.

US Dollar

There is no need to change money because for over a hundred years Panama's legal currency has been the American Dollar. However, there is also a local currency which is the Panamanian Balboa and in our country it has the same value as the US Dollar.

Panama is located in the heart of the Americas, and the Tocumen International Airport is the largest and most modern airport in Central America. It is also known as the Hub of the Americas, allowing you to connect from Panama with almost every other country in the region and on to the world.

Tips: Tips are not included in the restaurant prices. It is customary to tip between 10% – 15%.

Shopping Mall Hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Borders: The Borders of Panama are: the Caribbean Sea to the North, the Pacific Ocean to the South, Colombia to the East and Costa Rica to the West.

Visa and Immigration Requirements:
To enter the Republic of Panama, visitors must have the following documents:

  • Passport (minimum validity 6 months).
  • Return air ticket.
